Training Philosophy
Cory's approach centers on purpose-driven training with measurable outcomes. He believes that true training requires testing against specific objectives—without a goal or assessment, it's merely exercise, not preparation. His methodology integrates the body as a unified system, connecting physical performance with mental resilience and spiritual well-being.
His holistic training philosophy extends beyond the gym, emphasizing a balanced lifestyle that incorporates energy, strength, endurance, nutrition, recovery, family, and happiness. Through deliberate practice and progressive challenge, clients develop the habit of overcoming obstacles in both sport and life.
Background
Raised on a farm in rural Canada, Cory developed a strong work ethic, integrity, and teamwork from an early age. His athletic journey began at age four with competitive hockey, later expanding to football and baseball. At sixteen, a life-threatening accident left him facing the possibility of paralysis, giving him firsthand experience with the physical and psychological challenges of recovery and rehabilitation.
This personal journey informs his empathetic, results-driven approach to training. Cory has competed extensively in marathons, half marathons, and obstacle races across North America and has coached numerous athletes to achieve their performance goals. His programming draws from his own experiences and his training under the Gym Jones methodology with Bobby Maximus.
Today, as a husband and father of two energetic boys, Cory understands the challenges of balancing fitness with the demands of family and career. His core philosophy: "BE committed to DO what it takes, to HAVE what you want"—a principle he applies to every aspect of training and life.
